HAPPY NEW EARS: IMPROVISATION & CREATIVE MUSICIANSHIP
Are you curious about improvising music? Nervous about it? Always wanted to try it? Whether you have improvised before or not, this is an invitation to come on a musical adventure. The workshop includes practices for building improvisation skills and confidence, for enhancing listening and awareness, as well as guided and free improvisations. The focus is on enjoying the creative process together. For groups of piano players or mixed instruments.
SOUNDS & SILENCE: MINDFULNESS & MUSIC
Mindfulness practice and intuitive music-making mutually enhance and support each other. Slowing down through mindful breathing, sitting and walking opens doors to your inherent creativity. We will explore music and sound with an attitude of curiosity, playfulness and deep listening. Gentle movement exercises, sound walks and other listening practices open up the senses. Guided group improvisations encourage confidence and a spirit of adventure. Circumstances permitting, a part of the event will happen outdoors.
Can be tailored to suit needs of professional musicians, amateurs or groups of mixed abilities.
SOUND WALK
By opening up to the world of ambient sounds you may discover many surprises. Let yourself be guided to a state of deep listening while exploring the land- and soundscapes around. We use a variety of listening practices along the way, and we interact with the soundscape through playing/sounding with found objects, with percussion instruments from around the globe and with whatever instruments you bring.
Can be tailored to different ages, abilities and needs, e.g. corporate team building, families, school classes. No previous experience necessary.
PIANO FOR LATE STARTERS

These group classes offer an opportunity to learn the basics from scratch: get started with a relaxed touch, learn some easy tunes and elementary music reading skills, improvise your own music and get glimpses of music theory – all in the supportive setting of a small group.
PIANO FOR LATE STARTERS I: for people who have never played the piano before
PIANO FOR LATE STARTERS II: for beginners who have had a little bit of input through self study or lessons, however long ago
MINDFULNESS FOR MUSICIANS
There is something within us that can discover and perform from resources that go way beyond our conscious mind.
Barry Green
Mindfulness practice can benefit musicians in many ways: it helps us cope with the stresses of performing or auditioning. It deepens the awareness of the body, which helps prevent instrument-specific strains. Meditation generates the clarity and presence needed for rehearsing, teaching and going on stage, and therefore helps to connect with fellow musicians, students and audiences alike. Mindfulness also has the capacity to open doors into deeper aliveness and creativity.
This course introduces participants to the foundations of mindfulness practice. They will learn a range of practices which can be applied in daily life.
